SYDNEY, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Australian state of Victoria have commenced a manhunt for suspected offenders after a shooting incident injured one man in Melbourne's east. Emergency services were called to a residential building on Maidstone Street in Ringwood, following reports that a man had been injured in a shooting at about 3:10 a.m. local time on Friday. A 27-year-old man has been taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, while another man escaped uninjured on the premises at that time. According to a statement released by Victoria Police, two unknown males are believed to have entered the property and discharged a firearm before quickly fleeing the scene. "At this stage, the exact circumstances of the shooting are yet to be determined, however, investigators are treating it as a targeted attack," said Victoria Police. "The area has been cordoned off while detectives and officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit process the scene," the authority added. With a population of approximately 18,000, Ringwood is a suburb located about 25 km east of Melbourne's central business district.
